In Support of an Effective, Impartial & Independent Judiciary in Kosovo
Resolution 1: In Support of an Effective, Impartial & Independent Judiciary in Kosovo
WHEREAS, the Conference of State Court Administrators represents the leadership of state judicial systems charged with ensuring that justice is administered fairly to all who come before the courts; and
WHEREAS, the Conference of State Court Administrators maintains liaisons with other organizations working for the improvement of law and justice in the United States and abroad; and
WHEREAS, the National Center for State Courts, through its International Programs Division, works in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development in Kosovo to facilitate the transition to an effective and impartial justice system, improve the effectiveness of court operations, ensure enhanced respect for ethics and delivery of quality services, and increase public awareness of the justice system; and
WHEREAS, the National Center for State Courts requests the support of State Court Administrators through the provision of pro-bono assistance, including on-site mentorship and training in Kosovo; and
WHEREAS, the National Center for State Courts will facilitate such assistance through payment of travel, lodging, meals and incidental expenses on behalf of participating State Court Administrators
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Conference pledges its continued support of the transition to an effective and impartial justice system in Kosovo, and encourages each State Court Administrator to contribute in furtherance of this objective.
