Resolution 2: In Support of a Language Access Advisory Committee Working Group on Video Remote Interpreting
WHEREAS, emerging technology initiatives, which would allow states to work with national vendors to meet their video remote interpreting needs, are moving forward quickly; and WHEREAS, there are legal and ethical implications that need to be discussed in concert with these initiatives; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Conference of Chief Justices supports the Language Access Advisory Committee's creation of a working group to develop video remote interpreting national vendor certification standards and to address other related remote certification processes.
Adopted as proposed by the CCJ/COSCA Access, Fairness and Public Trust Committee at the Conference of Chief Justices 2013 Midyear Meeting on January 30, 2013.
